Toyota has issued these first pictures of its new Yaris supermini. It's the third-generation Toyota Yaris and seems to mix some of the Vauxhall Corsa creases with the proportions of a Renault Clio. It's a pert, very Euro piece of design, neatly incorporating the latest Toyota motifs - and you can judge for yourself when it goes on sale here in summer 2011.

Hang on, I thought the Impreza had got even uglier? In non-WRX form it is a despicably hideous beast but this is the STi and it looks cooking. Ok so it's no longer a super saloon but a hyper five-door hatch, which means Subaru has jumped straight into the ring with VW (Golf), Audi (S3) and Ford (ST) and many others.
Land Rover has a history of boldly going where many cars dare not tread, but it's now venturing into virgin territory of its own, with the launch of the first hybrid Range Rover models. Order books for the Range Rover Hybrid and Range Rover Sport Hybrid will open when the new cars make their world debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10th, with the first deliveries taking place in early 2014. both cars emit just 169g/km CO2 and offer 44.1mpg
